Alice Blackwood

Alice Blackwood is an editor, journalist and communications strategist. She is currently Editor of Indesign magazine. With over 10 years experience in the Australian architecture, design and media industries, Alice is a passionate supporter of the local design community, focusing much of her reportage on profiling the faces and forces behind top projects, innovative products and industry initiatives. “I think the Australian design community is one of the most talented and entrepreneurial in the world. I’m fascinated by all the moving parts – the businesses, the brands, the big-thinkers and everyday-doers – that come together to make up the Australia design industry.” Alice remains an active member of the Australian design and media community as a Moderator, MC, Judge, Commentator, Mentor and Advisor.

Adele Bates

With over 12 years of experience as an interior designer, Adele is recognised for her passion and innovation by her clients and industry peers. Adele is an active member within the design community and a council member within the Design Institute of Australia. Her experience lies in many project types from residential, multi-residential, hospitality, retail, workplace and education.

As the director of the practice she has created, she continues to create a truly collaborative and approachable environment for the team, clients and aligned consultants. Adele believes in continually being inspired and approaches each project uniquely, ensuring it is well considered, well crafted and designed with purpose. Creating a high quality design with longevity is the aim of the practice.

Michael Drescher

Michael Drescher is a DKO director with an incomparable ability to bring together the often siloed worlds of architecture and interior design. He has been the lead designer on a range of projects both in Australia and overseas, from distinctive multi-residential communities to luxury hotels and innovative workplaces.

Michael heads up the interior design teams across all DKO studios, in Australia, New Zealand and Vietnam, merging architecture and interiors into one complete design solution. Drawing on his extensive experience, ability and knowledge, Michael gives each client a tailored approach and a highly considered outcome.

Miriam Fanning

With over 20 years experience as an interior designer, Miriam has built a strong reputation in the design industry. Miriam has been involved in many types of design projects ranging from residential both individual and multi, through to hospitality, hotel, retail and large scale retail. Miriam, the founding director of Mim Design, believes in continually being inspired by surrounding environments and seeks a strong sense of design and rational use of purpose for each individual project. Her ability to nurture and meld client relationships ensures the studio is an approachable environment for both clients and the team at Mim Design. Miriam’s passion for visually exploring and achieving high-quality standards ensures each project is well considered, crafted and designed for a reason.
